Private Fishing Trips

A Private Charter Trip is a booking of an entire boat for the exclusive use of one group. No other anglers or groups will be added to a Privately Chartered Trip. The boat is yours for the day and you can fish all day, snorkel for a few hours if you choose or even go whale watching. We at HMF prefer to fish for the biggest game fish in Hawaii, but of course it’s completely up to you when you book a private trip.

With over 60 first class Boats in our Hawaiian Fleet that range in size from 20’ to 63’ in length that together catch more than 1000+ Billfish per year, HMF has become the Premier Charter Boat booking service on the Hawaiian Islands. Everybody knows that HMF takes great pride in our Fleet of Boats and the success of our Private fishing trips on the Big Island of Hawaii (Kona), Oahu (Kewalo and Ko’Olina), Maui (Lahaina & Maaleae) and Kaua’I (Niwiliwili and Port Allen). Always keep in mind that the nicer and bigger the boat, the more expensive it will be. It also matters what island you are planning to fish. For example, Oahu, Kauai and Kona are all similarly priced, while Maui is much more expensive and receives a premium for their charter boats.

Booking a Trip Online could not be easier and more enjoyable. There are two ways within our website to make a booking:

1) The easiest way is provide Search Information by answering our (4) question form, and then let our system automatically match our boats to your answers and requests. If you are looking for different results, you can make modifications and edit or filter your search criteria as many different ways that you would like.

2) Customers can look up all HMF Fleet Profiles, the Comparative Pricing and any other specific details that they may be interested in. The boats are organized by the island the operate and size range that they fall into. You can also see our complete HMF Fleet List of Boats at anytime by clicking “See All”

Once you make a eBooking with HMF, you will be provided with an Email that contains your User Name and Password, Your Trip Voucher with Trip Confirmation number. Bring your voucher with you to the boat the day of your trip. Go online to www.hawaiimarlinfishing.com at any time to view, make a food order or change/ edit your trip if something has changed.

Our customers love our easy to use our Online Food & Drink Ordering services. In fact, HMF is the only company that offers this Value Added service. Once you make your trip booking with HMF, you can sign back into the Angler Portal and choose to pre-order Breakfast Burritos, Sandwiches, Custom Wraps, Deli Food, Boxed Lunches, Candy, Chips, Beef Jerky, Fruit, Custom Garden Salads, Yogurts, Deli Items, Juice, Beer, Wine, Liquor and so much more. HMF also offers a few local Hawaiian Restauarants that you can order from. There’s no need to run out the night before to go grocery shopping or stay up late making food on your vacation. Place your food and drink order with HMF at least 24-hours in advance and we’ll deliver it right to your boat!

Another value added service that sets us apart from our competition is that we offer shuttle and services to and from your hotel, residence or even a direct a pick up from the airport. HMF will pick you up and deliver you safely and in comfort to/ from the harbor. There’s no need to get frustrated with trying to pre-arrange your own taxi ride or renting a car if you don’t need to. Simply request Shuttle services when making your booking, or go online at least 12 hours prior to your fishing date. HMF will first send you an email asking you to confirm your shuttle request and the pricing. Once you respond with “Yes”, everything will be set and HMF will organize your pick up. No Stress, easy on-time pick up and safe delivery.

All of the boats in the Hawaii Marlin Fishing Fleet are licensed and insured Charter Boat Corporations. All charter boats are required to be well maintained and offer all of their anglers professional fishing equipment including rods, reels, fishing line, hooks, liters, fighting chairs, lures and all other gear needed to land the big game fish that are plentiful in these waters. With HMF, we only work with boats that provide the highest level of Customer Service. HMF asks that our customers respond to our 1-minute (5) question survey that we send out out after your trip has completed. This review helps us maintain premium quality standards throughout our entire HMF fleet, at all times, without exception.

This is beautiful and Hawaii however, a light jacket is a good idea on Oahu deep sea fishing trips (it’s chilly with the trade winds in the morning and night off shore), sunscreen, food, drinks, take Dramamine if necessary for sea sickness 24 hours before trip. We provide fishing gear, tackle, refrigerator, ice and cooler for food and drinks.

Of course you are always welcome to bring and take your own pictures and videos, however please understand that when you are hooked up to a big fish, space is needed as there is a lot of excitement on the back of the boat. Quite often with Marlin they only jump and fight outside of the water when they get hooked and make their first run. Don't miss your video of a lifetime. At HMF we make it easy for our customers. We deliver the Hero 4 Professional GoPro camera and all accessories to the boat. When your trip is over, take your video card and leave the camera and acessories on the boat. HMFs GoPro Rentals include professional mounts for the boats, as well as additional accessories including a remote control, headstrap and handler grip for action footage. The camera is yours for the day, and we provide you with a dual battery charger and (2) batteries to ensure our customers satisfaction. HMF can also provide you with a video card (that you take home with you after the trip) or you may choose to purchase and bring your own video card. NOTE: The GoPro camera should always be left on the mount that is facing the back of the boat when it is not being used. That is the easy place to simply press play and start recording when you are hooked up to a fish.

HMF provides professional fish mounting services at discounted rates. Our customers can either choose to use the Worlds Biggest Taxidermy Company or they can choose from our other offered Hawaiian Taxidermist Companies that are also well respected and proven masters in the trade. It is always best that you you let us know “while on your fishing trip” that you want to mount the game fish you just caught. This ensure that the crew gets exact measurements and takes as many high quality pictures of your fish from all angles. We will be trying to capture all of the color variations and independent markings of the fish as much as possible. Towards the end of your fishing trip, HMF system will be sending you an email and an SMS text message reminding you about this service. If you are not ready or undecided, that is completely fine and you shouldnt feel pressured. Many customers do not order their mounts until they return from their trip and the reality of their great catch sets in. HMF is the only company offering online Fish Mount Quotes and Ordering for the convenience of our customers.

Tipping of the Crew is expected… but of course always at the customer’s discretion. If you are planning to tip your crew, please make your payment to the Captain of the Boat. General Rule of thumb is to provide a 20% Tip to the Crew if you were happy with the service provided, and a 20%+ tip when big fish are caught.
